For my July art quilt group meeting the assignment was to make the pear quilt in the book "Art Quilt Workbook" by Jane Davila and Elin Waterston, but to use a color different than a typical pear (yellow or green). I made my pear in orange. It was a good exercise in selecting fabrics to make the shadows on the pear. It was a fun project to do. Mom
Great job. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words, Frank.
ReplyDeleteI have just started quilting, so I have a much better appreciation for this than I did before! Wow! I can't believe how perfectly spaced your quilted lines around the pear are! I'm a complete mess with the darning foot at this point. I took an online class on free motion quilting and I got a lot of good pointers, but my darning looks more like a drawing by a 3-year-old! I have completed a quilt top that I was planning on quilting with the darning foot, but I'm so terrified I'll ruin it! Anyway... enough blabbing. Just thought I would let you know that I can now truly see how much hard work and talent went into this!
