Ground Hog Day

Saturday February 2, was Ground Hog Day. Watching our TV weatherman last night he stated when he was in weather school, Ground Hog Day was a holiday. I noticed that the comic section of our paper had tributes to these forecasting animals. The Ground Hogs are also called Woodchucks, Land Beavers and Whistelepigs. This animal has been predicting forecasts since February 2, 1887 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. I noted that this year he predicted six more weeks of winter. I didn't think much of that news yesterday but here I sit today watching the snow coming down again. Well stoke up the fire, get a good book and settle in for the next six weeks. Think Spring!!!!
