Someone is taking an extra long winter's nap

What do all of these things have in common?  Any guesses?

What if I throw in the fact that I'm 9 months and 1 day pregnant?  Now do you know?

Okay, I'll tell you.  Apparently, these are some good old fashioned home remedies for inducing labor naturally.  So far none of them have worked.  You'd be surprised about what's on the Internet as far as these remedies go.  They run the gamut from eggplant dishes to primrose oil.

My husband and mother had a fun time using me as a guinea pig today.  First I sat and bounced on the exercise ball for about 30 minutes.  Then I took a 30 minute brisk walk with my mother.  So far, so good.  But then we got to the cumin tea, which looked like a glass of urine and tasted worse (at least I suspect it does).  It was pretty awful.  But my mom made up for it with the last home remedy--labor cake, which is basically chocolate, with more chocolate and then a final touch of a little more chocolate cake.  I may just have to eat this cake every day until my son decides to come.  At least it will make each passing day a little more enjoyable.

I think I'm going to cut my husband and mother off just so there's enough cake for me in case our little one decides to hibernate for a few more days.  Daughter.

  1. Sorry the baby is being stubborn about making an appearance! If I were you, I would eat a piece of that cake every hour, on the hour, until he comes! :-)

  2. I keep trying to do that, but my mom doesn't think that's the way it works!
