Ode to Leaves

Leaf so lovely and light,
making days ever bright.

Gaily coloring the yards,
while trees stand like stoic guards.

Millions and millions of leaves,
oh, time to roll up my sleeves.
How can a thing so lovely and light,
turn into such a chore?
My muscles complained all night,
And tomorrow on the ground will be even more leaves galore!

  1. Very nice. I like leaves too. Daughter would let you know that I wandered home from reading in the park the other day with a pile of leaves. I can't, however, identify this leaf. Cottonwood?

  2. The first two leaves were linden, the third picture was a cottonwood. The leaves were in Mom's (aka Grandmother) backyard...too bad you weren't there to help me :)
